Sophia Georges: Affordability Crisis Has Voters Ready for Change

Ward 3 Franklin Township Council candidate Sophia Georges is no stranger to national attention. With her professional expertise in real estate, assessments, and taxation, she is often invited to appear on podcasts and broadcasts across the country to share her perspective on affordability and housing policy.

In a recent interview, Georges focused on a growing concern among Franklin residents: the skyrocketing costs of housing and utility bills. She spoke candidly about how families are struggling to keep up, particularly as electrical bills and taxes continue to climb.

But what resonated most was her story from the campaign trail. Georges explained that while knocking on doors throughout Franklin—including many lifelong Democrat households—she has been hearing something unexpected:

“I'm a lifelong Democrat, I voted Democrat, but this year I am not voting Democrat”

According to Georges, this shift is not about partisanship—it’s about survival. Families and seniors alike are demanding leaders who will take affordability seriously and fight for policies that make Franklin a place where people can stay, not a place they’re forced to leave.

As voters weigh their choices in the upcoming election, Georges says the message is clear: it’s time for leadership that puts residents first and addresses the real issues—housing, taxes, and affordability—head on.
