Let's Make Easton Ave Safe Now

As a nurse, I’ve seen firsthand the pain that follows a tragic accident. And as a Franklin resident, I’m heartbroken and angry every time another life is lost on Easton Avenue.
Easton Avenue is the most dangerous road in Somerset County. We’ve all seen the flashing lights, the traffic backups, the makeshift memorials. Yet year after year, little changes. The town council’s usual answer is that Easton Avenue is a “county road,” so it’s in the county’s hands.
That answer is no longer acceptable.
Our town council should attend every Somerset County Board of Commissioners meeting until the county takes decisive action. Whether it’s installing “No Left Turn” signs, adding a median divider, or putting in more traffic lights - something must be done. We’ve had enough studies. It’s time for solutions.
Every delay risks another accident, another family shattered, another life gone too soon.
As your representative, I will never accept that “it’s someone else’s responsibility.” Franklin residents drive that road every day. It’s our problem and it’s past time for our leaders to fight for us.
Let’s make Easton Avenue safe. Not tomorrow. Not after another tragedy. Now.
