🏛️ Government Transparency & Community Involvement: You Deserve a Voice

ree

Have you ever found out about a major Franklin Township decision after it was already made? A warehouse approval. A rezoning. A tax hike. You're not alone.

Too many Franklin residents feel unheard, uninformed, and shut out of the decisions that directly impact their daily lives. The current one-party Town Council may hold public meetings, but they don’t always hold public conversations.

Our candidates—Christopher LEZNY, Jan BRANT, Sophia GEORGES, and Benjamin GUY—believe government works best when it listens, explains, and includes the people it serves.

We’re not here to point fingers. We’re here to offer solutions.

Our Plan for Real Transparency and Engagement

1. Early Public Notice & Plain-Language Summaries. No more vague legalese buried on a township agenda. We will require that major proposals—such as land use changes, major spending, or new developments—be shared with the public at least two weeks in advance, with clear, plain-English summaries.

You shouldn’t need a lawyer or insider access to understand what’s going on.

2. Quarterly “Meet Your Council” Town Halls. Council meetings today allow only limited, one-directional public comment—and do not include real dialogue. We propose quarterly town hall-style meetings, where residents can ask questions, give input, and receive answers in real time. Imagine that?

No major time limits. No intimidation. Just real conversations with your elected officials.

3. A Public Budget Dashboard. This is huge! Where exactly does your tax money go? How much is spent on parks vs. administration vs. legal fees? We’ll advocate for an online, user-friendly budget dashboard that breaks down the township budget so any resident can track how money is being spent—and where cuts can be made.

We Work for You

Transparency isn’t a luxury—it’s a responsibility. And community involvement shouldn’t be an afterthought—it should be the foundation of every decision we make.

Franklin Township deserves leaders who listen, communicate clearly, and respect the people’s right to know what’s happening before it’s too late.

🗳️ Vote Lezny, Brant, Georges, and Guy. For a Franklin government that listens before it acts.
