On March 9, 2020 we lost our dear friend Bob Mettler. Bob served in various Franklin Township government capacities since the 1970s. These positions included councilman, mayor, and as a member of several township committees including the Historic Preservation committee.

Being a lifelong resident and coming from a family that has been part of our township for many generations, Bob was considered an expert on Franklin Township history. As resident historian Bob often gave talks on various topics relating to past township events, locations, and families. He had an amazing memory for all things history and a passion for all things Franklin.

Bob loved God, his family, church, politics, chess, and history among many other things. He was well-liked and respected by all who knew him. Our community will be different with his absence. Bob Mettler, you will be dearly missed.
